You can upload data from any accounting software or Excel using the Manual company upload. You can upload your data in either Single Column YTD Trial Balance format or in Balance Sheet/ Profit and Loss format.
To upload Excel data to Joiin, you'll need to follow these steps:
1. Go to the Companies page in Joiin.
2. Click on "Add Company" and select "Add Manual Company."
3. Fill in the company's info, such as the name and financial year start.
4. Download the template by clicking on the "Download Template" link. You can also select the dates the template will be generated for.
5. We recommend mapping your accounts to the Joiin 'Type' - you can see a list of the Joiin account Types here.
- To do this choose the 'Type' column option.
- Where possible Joiin will use machine learning/ AI to map your accounts based on their names and codes, include the code option to ensure the highest level of accuracy.
5. Prepare your CSV file, using the column headers provided. (Name, Code, Month)
A file may look like:
6. Drag your CSV file into the drop box on the screen or click on the "Select a file from your device" link.
7. Joiin will validate and upload the file. Check the file to ensure the mappings are correct. (The mappings are shown here highlighted yellow)
8. Once the data is loaded and there are no errors, click on the "Add Company" button to finish.
Adjusting mappings
If you are not happy with the AI-generated mappings you can edit them yourself, to do this:
1. Click on the (manual upload) company in question, which will take you to the below screen.
2. Hover over the account in question
3. Click the pen icon.
4. From the 'Type' drop down select the desired Joiin account type.
